Senior Accountant | Elmington Property Management
The Senior Accountant performs a variety of professional-level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of ledgers and financial systems, as well as assisting in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audits, and year-end closings. The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by reviewing financial reports prepared by accountants. This role involves working within a multi-location, multi-business structure with diverse financial responsibilities, including optimizing income, expenses, and debt management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Documents financial transactions by entering account information
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
Maintains financial security by following internal controls and promoting an ethical environment
Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements

Maintains investor confidence and protects operations by maintaining confidentiality
Reconciles monthly bank statements and is responsible for cash management
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
Reviews financial reports completed by accountants and ensures that all deadlines are met within their portfolio
Acts as liaison between lenders, developers, and equity partners regarding monthly development operations and funding requests
Assists with year-end reporting, including, but not limited to, annual filings, audits, and tax returns
Performs other duties as assigned SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
CPA certification preferred, but not required 3-5 years of accounting experience
